To mark the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Singapore, the China National Symphony Orchestra performed in Singapore from Sept 7 to 11.

Under the baton of Tsung Yeh, Conductor Emeritus of the Singapore Chinese Orchestra, the orchestra performed on Sept 8 at the Esplanade-Theatres on the Bay. The concert featured pianist Kong Xiangdong and violinist Kong Zhao Hui, the associate concertmaster of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra.

The program included classic pieces such as The Yellow River Piano Concerto and The Butterfly Lovers Violin Concerto. On Sept 9, celebrating the 10th anniversary of the China Cultural Center in Singapore, the orchestra collaborated with Singaporean musicians to present a concert featuring both Chinese and Western music, including Dance of the Yao People and Tchaikovsky's Serenade for Strings in C Major, Op 48. The tour concluded on Sept 10 with musicians from the China National Symphony Orchestra conducting a masterclass at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts.
